keep getting BSOD

New Member
New build, old hdd. just partitioned the HDD and i turn the computer on. and i start to install everything i want
whenever i pop in the Norton Disc... itll get to 100% downloaded.. then i get the BSOD.. its really pissing me off.. no matter what i do, this is always the outcome..
can anyone help me with this please?

but i got norton on all my other computers.. and my dad always gives me a pissy attitude about using a different virus protector... but ill try that whenever i can get the computer runnin again.. gimee 10 mins
 
Really, norton is the worst virus protector out there, and those free programs I mentioned gets rave reviews. If you can try to convince your dad, it would most likely solve your problem.

And did you install all the proper drivers?
 
why is norton the worst? cause its one of the biggest names and everyone targets them?
yes i always install the drivers that came with my mobo, and at the same time, Windows 7 installs all of the other drivers automatically.. then i instal microsoft office and then Norton and then it crashes...

No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

This is definately caused by your Symantec product. Do you have the reinstallation cd and your cd key? If you really want to keep Nortons as your antivirus program( I suggest you don't, though), do this. Download and run the norton removal tool to totally uninstall the program and then reinstall it, get it fully updated and try it out and see if it blue screens.
