keeping track of fans and cooling

I recently moved my computer from college, back to home, and I have noticed that my computer is making a lot more noise then it used to. I think it has something to do with the fans in my computer. At first I thought that they were running intermittently, but now it just seems that only the cpu heat sink fan and the power supply fan are the only two that are working. I installed Speedfan to see if I could better understand what was going on, but I don't have much experience with computer cooling systems. When that didn't go as planned I installed easytune5 a program that came recommended by my motherboards manual.

Under the hardware monitor the fan stats are as follows:
CPU 3375 RPM
PWR1 0 RPM with a flashing light next to it (the yellow triangle with an
exclamation point inside.)
System 0 RPM with the same flashing light.

Any help would be appreciated. I just don't know what to look for.

How many case fans do you have there? Is this on a prebuilt system or a custom build? Have you looked in the bios setup for a hardware monitor?

Theres a total of 5 fans, 2 of which are the heat sink and power supply. Theres another one located in the back, one in the side and one in the front. It was part of a slightly modified gaming system built by visionman. When I went to install a new NIC in my computer a few days ago I realized that the rear fan was not hooked up at all, but it is possible that it was a careless mistake on my part from a previous modification. I am generally good with computers, but do not have much experience when it comes to the cooling systems. I know that it has SMART fan installed, but I do not know much else.

so 3 case fans are not spinning? aer they all plugged in, maybe the PSU isnt sufficient enough. try one fan at a time. check for loose connections too.

PS, how does a cmoputer make more noise when 3/5 of the fans are not running =)

You wouldn't even need a 300w supply to run a few case fans. That auromatically rules out not having enough power. It takes far more power to even boot a system then fans will ever draw.

You will to look at the plugs for each fan to see how those plug in. If you see a small white plug with 3 or 4 pins that plugs in on the board itself. For others you would see the molex type or the single 5v feed depending on fan.
