Keeps wireless connectivity but loses internet.

I have a client who has 4 computers in the house all running wireless. 2 desktops and 2 laptops. One of the laptops is running XP and after 5-10 minutes of surfing, the internet stops working while all the other computers retain a good internet connection. Repairing the connection via the taskbar icon fixes it temporarily until the issue reoccurs. Any thoughts

A couple-- it could be a weak wireless card in that computer.

If there is a firewall between all the computers and the internet, then Windows Firewall on that particular machine may be interfering.

There is a possibility that the wireless router is screwing up, possibly overheating (I see that a lot with Netgear wifi).

Bad Wireless Card?

I don't think it's the router. It's a brand new router and when this issue happens, all of the other PC's keep an internet and local connection. This particular computer with the issue has the strongest signal in the house too. Other sources say the wireless card may be going out?

Up to date

All the drivers are up to date. I'm looking into a new wireless card right now. I'm going to try USB card just to see if its an XP issue or a hardware issue.

what specific brand of laptop is it?
I have some issues on a Dell Latitude D630 under XP and 2000 pro with wireless dropping out (sees networks, but cant connect to them till you restart). I have replaced the card twice (ebay and genuine new part from Dell) and still have the issue. Since I didn't have the issue under Vista, I have concluded it has bad drivers.

You might be having a similar issue with yours.
