Key Code In Use

I am trying to connect to servers in COD4 on the PC, and I keep getting the Key code in use message, and I went into my settings, and verified my code, and its valid.



I am also having trouble finding low ping servers..

Have you tried quitting the game and restarting? It sounds like it means that the CD Key is currently being used in a server, not necessarily that someone stole your CD Key. Did you join a server recently, if so then the game may think that you are part of that game still, which is why it's giving you that message.
 
yeah wait like an hour and reboot

if it doesnt help, then it means someone may have nicked your key and using it to play online
 
I used to get that error off and on. I'm not sure if someone stole my key or what. Restarting my network didn't help. I would just have to wait it out for a while and then I could get back on.
 
no if you only get it some of the time, it means the last server hasnt reported you left yet - common if you get kicked.
 
I usually get the "key code in use" message if i restart my router.

I think what Omega said is right, the server is still using the key code, unfortunately i dont think there is a fix for this, you just have to wait until it stops using it... for me its taken anywhere between 10mins and 1hr.
 
i usualy get that message if i play in a game but then leave to join another server.

i think it just neds time to see that you have actualy left the one server.
