Keyboard Compatibility?

I am helping a friend and fitting a new keyboard to his laptop.
He has a HP Pavillion DV6000 and a HP Pavillion DV9000.

The HP Pavillion DV9000 is not working (video card)
The HP Pavillion DV6000 works but has no HDD and the keyboard is missing keys and some dont work.

My question is will the HDD work from the DV9000?
And would the Keyboard work from the DV9000?

Thanks :D

The HDD for sure would work, the keyboard is another story.

There is a better chance since they are both HP laptops, however, they are different models. Wouldn't hurt to try since both are inoperable right now, correct? In order to swap out the keyboard you have to completely open the shell and disassemble the laptop which will void the warranty (which I assume is over anyway, otherwise they would have been repaired, just thought I'd mention it in case...). Anyway, there is usually a ribbon cable from the keyboard to the motherboard that disconnects, and you can try just swapping them... Sometimes you can find a keyboard for a particular laptop on eBay, just make sure it is the exact model, i.e. dv9120 (dv9000 is the series, you want the specific model that is underneath, either just somewhere on the bottom or sometimes they put it under where the battery attaches.)

Here's a link to a potential replacement... http://www.ebay.com/itm/441541-001-...Trackballs&hash=item35b233148a#ht_1807wt_1139
