ok, im fixing a computer for a close friend of mine and her dad got it from some douche bag and built this random machine.
its a phoenix motherboard, not sure which version
WD WD600 harddrive 60GB
2x256 memory
it has a fake version of windows on it, i want to clear it out and installed XP pro on it but my friends wants her pictures, and theres a shit load, its of her boyfriend that passed away last yr. thats all that i really need from it. but i used like 10 different keyboards nd mice on it and nothing happens.
on optical mice, they light up but dont move.
in the setup menu, the keyboard is fine, once i exit keyboard doesnt work.
there is an option in the setup menu for the HD that says restroe factory defaults, i thought about doing but im not sure if it would empty everything out.
theres about 400 resgistry error and alot of viruses, the motherboard seems to go back to the stoneage.
and is there a way to access the HD some other way, but regardless what can i do?!?
