Keyboard problem

Lately, when I try to type anything my keyboard won't do anything, I just hear a sound comes from the pc (tower) like I am hitting wrong key. But tops keys (like the Power key or internet key) are working, I replaced the keyboard to new one, but still does not working …anyone can help?
 
Try the opposite of your keyboard connection (PS/2-USB, USB-PS/2) and see if the other works.
Edit: with a different keyboard.
 
is it wireless keyboard?

if it is go to control panel and click on keyboard, a window should pop up. click the hardware on the window and see if it recognize the keyboard.

if it does not than should take look at the drivers.
 
it's always good to have a spare ps2 keyboard and mouse around, just for reasons like this. you can get a keyboard for like $4 nowadays, lol.
 
Annr...thank you, it is not wireless...what drive you talking about

Pdc76...I have tried different keyboard, still does the same...
