Keyboard Problem

Occasionally the keyboard will switch keys, ex, pressing c types j. This happens for all the alphabetic and punctuation keys except a and only remains as long as the affected program is open. This has happened for word, games, firefox, and outlook.
Closing and re-opening the program fixes it, but it is an annoying problem nonetheless.
I do not believe the problem is caused by spyware, but this computer is only running AVG and Zone Alarm so its possible.

I believe it is a software problem because it happens intermittently.

Don't limit out hardware... Try another keyboard if you have one laying around. Hardware doesn't just die, it can malfunction intermittently.

I tried a different keyboard (the same type as the one before) and there was the same problem right away.
