Keyboard works in BIOS but nothing else?

I have a cheap crappy USB keyboard, and it works fine with the BIOS. However my mouse and keyboard don't work in Windows, and it doesn't work when it says Press any key to boot from CD.
Edit: Actually I think the keyboard is just half broken, because my old PS/2 keyboard works fine
Edit 2: But my mouse still doesn't work, it's A Razer Deathadder 3.5G USB.

Have ya tried the usb's in front and back?

No, but I'm not even sure if the front USBs work, I don't think the header on the board works anymore.

If it worked before and previous and the usb is good. Reset the batteries. thats all i can think of. usb is good and not work its the keyboard.

Usually this is the other way around. Look in the bios and make sure USB support for a mouse/keyboard is enabled in the bios.

How old is the motherboard you are using?

Can you try a PS/2 mouse?
