Kind of Saw my Christmas Gift

Ok well I was in my room and my step-dad went outside to get something out of the truck, I was looking through my blinds and was going to light him up with my flashlight(it's a hobby, I collect surefires) but when he came back out the truck, I saw a blue box with vaio on it.. now, we went to the Pxtra(military store) and were looking at the because I was interested in something that I could keep in my room. Something to put Itunes on, surf the web. Nothing too serious like computer games. Maybe a little more complex stuff like Microsoft Office stuff when I graduate. Would this fit the bill? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8551827&st=sony+vaio&type=product&id=1188561005895

I was going to upgrade the RAM to probably 2 or 3GB since the processor isn't that fast.. would it be good good general use though?

Yeah, Basically. I know I made that post a lot more complicated than it really had to be. Sorry about that. Will the Vaio be good enough?

well i would love one.

so you know the exact model from glancing at the box?

just checking..

it can only upgrade to 2 gb ram. remember that.

and i dont think ram will help. it already has 1 gb.

the processor is the problem.

but even so. its not a problem. laptops arent supposed to be majorly powerful lol.

it may not be able to handle new games because of the graphics.

what im trying to say is that its pretty good. i would leave it as it is.
ram upgrades arent gonna help in my opinon.

IT should be fine for general use.
Dont be expecting to play Crysis maxed though.

I would upgrade to 2GB if its any form of vista, but XP yeah 1gig is fine
I agree.

Most likely the Sony will have integrated graphics, so gaming at all will be very minimal. However they are still great laptops!

I kind of tricked my step dad into going to best buy today and strolling around the laptops, the model I looked at, is gone from display, maybe it's a coincidence, but I'm pretty sure it's that one. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

It does come stock with Vista Premium.. so I may buy another gig of RAM for it.. they're only like $30(I can work a deal or something...)

I have no intention of gaming on it, just Itunes and Internet use.
