Dear folks,

I need to know if the Kinsgton memory kit KHX1600C9D3K2/4G (Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 2x2GB) can be used with the mother board Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H (rev. 2.0).

The memory is specified as operating at 1.7-1.9v, while the motherboard supports memories operating at 1.5v.

The motherboard URL: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3425#sp

The memory specification: 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Standard 256M X 64 Non-ECC 1600MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (DDR3, 1.7-1.9V, CL9, FBGA, Gold.

The memory URL: http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/PartsInfo.asp?root=&LinkBack=&ktcpartno=KHX1600C9D3K2/4G

Thanks in advance,

It will just boot it at 1333. You will need to go into the Bios and change it to 800/1600, Timing to 9-9-9-27, voltage 1.7 to 1.9.

Pretty crap memory, I would choose something else.

Ok, I understand! Then the good choice is the 1333MHz model, i.e., the KVR1333D3N9K2/4G memory. Also, this memory operates at 1.5v, so I think it will not be necessary to adjust the voltage in the mother board.

The memory specifications are: 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM (Kit of 2) standard 256M X 64 Non-ECC 1333MHz 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM (DDR3, 1.5V, CL9, FBGA, Gold)

Pretty crap memory, I would choose something else.

I'm not an expert so I can't tell good from bad, I just choose known brands (poor criterion, I know :() so, what would you advise me to buy for this mother board?

Thank you very much, your answer has been of great help... :)
