Know Of A Good Post Tutorial?

I am trying to learn about Power on Self Test procedures. I have the book "How Computers Work" by Ron White. The problem is this is the 1993 edition, so I'm sure it's outdated.
I know the POST procedure is still the same in what it does, but I'm afraid the specific tasks might be different for modern machines. Am I right in thinking this...and would anyone know of a good tutorial or book that can give me a more up to date look at POST?
 
I don't think the POST has changed too much, basically it just tests the system to see if there are any problems with the hardware, what kind of hardware you have, to initialize different parts and the boot sequence.
