Having trouble getting the MB to boot. the HD is fine and only two years old. ran multiple programs and the drive is clean of defects, sectors, and virus.

when I run it by itself, there is a 20 second delay between booting from the CD-ROM until I see the Windows screen. This is if I even get the BIOS to see the drive. It doesn't show up until I select the primary master [not installed] and then back out that the drive is there.

I have tried several different cables and two different HD's. But it seems to be a hit and miss at getting the thing to run. I've had to reinstall windows twice.

I'm at a loss and could use some help

it sounds like what happens when you have the jumpers set incorrectly on the back of the drive. i accidentally did it once and it took me ages to see the problem
