L3 cache enabled?

Processor's have cache, not motherboards(at least not current ones) And very few processors have L3 cache. That's really just for server based processors. I beleive just some Xeon's and some G5's have L3 cache...

Old K6-III, K6-II+ and K6-III+ had L1 and L2 on the processor and used the L2 on the old Socket 7 and super 7 boards as a L3, called it Tri-level cache, but after the socket 7 theres only L1 and L2 on the processor, AMD or Intel!

I have a P4 1.8Ghz with asus P4S800D i have found to have L2 and seen my L3 set to disabled, while on another P4 2.8Ghz with asus board I found an L3 cache. Just wondering.

Hmm...well, I just did a quick google for that and I did find some info on a few P4's with L3 cache. However, regarding the benchmark's I read a couple nights back, L3 really doesn't add any performace increases. Sometimes it even made things slower.

Pentium 4 EE's based off of the Gallatin core (same core as the Xeon MP) featured 2MB of L3 cache.

Care to share the source of information?
Pentium 4's based off of the M0 stepping generally do have the L3 cache still on the chip, although chances are that it is disabled.
