Lack of memory?

I just installed my new Club3D Radeon X800GTO RX and the new Antec SmartPower 2.0 450W. But I noticed that my computer seems slower than it usually is, well it is slower. I looked at the video cards system requirements and it says it needs 256Mb of system memory. I have 512Mb but I was wondering if putting in an extra 256Mb memory would help. The only downside is that the 256Mb memory is PC2100 while the rest of my memory is PC3200 @ PC2700 due to the fact that my mobo only supports max. PC2700. This would slow down the memory but would it help at all? Oh and why does the box the video card came in say that the card supports SM3, when it says it only supports SM2.0b on the manufacturers homepage?

To answer the homepage/box discrepancy question, the boxes usually go to print long before the hardware is finished, so it probably got changed in the last stages of production.

You can try putting more RAM into the computer, but try running a defrag/AV sweep, etc. Or, it could be a conflict with the new drivers for the card, and then that's a whole new problem... :(

I thought about putting in the extra 256Mb but I have been told that because it is PC2100 it would make the 512Mb PC3200 @ PC2700 down to the same speed as the extra 256Mb. I was also thinking about OC'ing my CPU a bit more.

I put in the extra 256Mb of DDR RAM and fortunately it helped. Everything is running much smoother.
