I for one already picked it up, but, wont be able to play until later today. I cannot wait to see how my new rig handles it. Anyone else picking it up today?

u have geforce 7800GTX so i think u can play it in the highest setting.

anyway i can't wait to see this game, i will buy it as soon as possible, i wish than it runs at high or medium setting on my geforce 6600 vanilla

Ill get it when I read the reviews... the demo ran pretty choppy on my rig, so I couldnt put it on full gfx. but I might get it... demo seemed very hard to complete though.

<<stay on topic>>>

f.e.a.r. is incredible. Well, from the demo I played anyways. I can't wait to get it. Luckily, I can run the game on mid - high settings at 40fps. This will probably be the last good looking game my current rig can handle, so I'll have to get it for sure

*UPDATE* Yesterday I bought the game and played for about an hour. I'll give you a brief rundown on my opinion of the game. First off, on the technical side of things, it does have a couple issues. The first problem, which mostly seems to relate to Nvidia, more specifically, the 7800 lines of cards have an issue with the forceware drivers and volumetric lighting. If you google about it, there are posts on the net on how to temporarily fix this. Secondly, this game is EXTREMELY demanding, even more so than bf2. Even on my box in my sig, I had to turn things down just a tad. On the positive side of things, graphics are great, sound is awesome, and its scary as hell. It does seem to run alot better than the demo. BTW, @whoever mentioned about waiting to see the reviews, PC Gamer did give this a 92%. In my opinion, its a damn good game.

can i play this game at 1024x768 with medium setting on my 6600 vanilla ??? if this game runs in my computer with no problems i might buy it.

im pretty shure it will ( i even think you could go a bit higher). but why dont you just download the demo, and c for yourself to be shure :)

it will take me at least 20 hours to download the demo in my dial up

F.E.A.R. runs for me on Med-High settings and I've got:

2.8GHz P4
1GB Pc 2700 RAM
GeForce 6600GT

I think you should be able to run it just fine

yes Med-High but at what resolution?, anyway ur video card is better than mine because u have 6600GT, mine is not GT.

i only play on 1024/768 thats good enough for me.. but you're right, didnt realize your's wasn't GT. id still give the demo a shot if i were you though

i play @ 1280 x 960 or whatever the highest res is with everything at highest (with the exception of the options i had to change due to the volumetric lighting problem). Runs smooth as hell with no lag. Last night i was playing in the dark with the volume cranked, almost $h!t myself.

Well, I honestly can't compare the demo to the full version. When I was playing the demo, it was on a different box. Since then, I built the new machine listed in my sig. I can say this, the gameplay I have experienced has been awesome. The fights are really dynamic, the AI is actually a worthy opponent. At one point last night, I was peeking around a corner unloading on two guys hiding behind boxes and I hear over their radio "flank him!!" Out of the corner my screen I saw two more guys running down an adjacent hallway to get behind me. In the meantime, i was still unloading on them and they were just reaching over the boxes with their arms and shooting blindly, dirka style.
