recently got ADSL 1 Set up at the house because the ADSL2 Exchange was full or something like that
running adam home on anverage plan (10 gig Downloads on peak and 10 gig off peak)...the speed is set at 1500K.
i have not gone over my cap on either the OFF or ON peak periods.
i am currently running wireless to a Netgear NEXT G modem ( the signal does not go very far>>i cannot connect to it if i am outside the house in my car).
My computer is barely 3m away from the modem and really only has 2 pass through 1 wall ( if that).
Signal strength is always 4/5 or 5/5 and 54mbps.
Ever since i have recieved the modem i have been getting lag spikes in games like Warcraft 3...every 10-15 secs i will get a spike...not enough to stop me playing but enough to greatly annoy me.
And more recently i have been getting constant disconnects during play of World of Warcraft.
I am very unhappy that i am unable to play these games lag free and would like to fix this
what are my options in improving my internet? will running a cable from my room to the modem allow for quicker internet? is their a program or something i can use? new modem?
