Lap top fan connector

Can anyone help me out with extending the cable on my laptop fan. The new one is shorter than the old because I'm a cheap *** lol. I have an Asus VivoBook 17 and its not the standard molex connector but the smaller one. I only need to extend it a couple inches. Thanks for your help.

Cut the wires and splice additions that are the exact same gauge wire. You'd be dealing with having a bulkier wire after properly wrapping the spliced area to prevent shorts though, which in a laptop means they probably won't fit where they should.

Or, just get the proper fan for that system. Probably cheaper too, especially if you don't already have the wire and proper tools.

You know what they say, buy cheap buy twice.

Guarantee resolving the issue is more expensive than the difference.
