Laptop < $1300

I am looking to purchase a laptop for under $1300. I am going to use it for programming and internet/email. I will not be using it to play games. I would like a 15'' or bigger monitor. What would be my best choices?

I would go with Asus C90. Its got a 15.4 inch screen and you can choose most of the parts and OS on it and you can even choose to have Ubuntu preinstalled.

Are there any other suggestions?? I am looking for computer with good battery life, great performance, and not too big and bulky.
 
I would assume you just need to choose a laptop with the fastest CPU within your budget.
