laptop advice

im after a laptop used mainly for games and work, for under 700£ i have already found thisone for 675£

- Athlon Turion 64 Mobile 1.8Ghz
- 512KB L2 Cache
- 15.4" WXGA Widescreen Panel (1024x768)
- 512MB DDR PC2700 DDR333 Memory
- NVIDIA GeForce GO 7300 256MB Turbo Cache Graphics Accelerator
- 80GB IDE 4200 rpm Hard Drive
- Internal 8x DVD+/-RW Drive
- Intel ProWireless 802.11b/g Wireless LAN
- Integrated Camera
- Integrated Speakers
- Bag/Case Included
- Microsoft WIndows XP Home SP2 Edition Installed and supplied
- Weight including battery - 2.85kg
- Dimensions - 354 x 35.2 x 284 (WxHxD)
- 2yr Asus collect & return warranty

are there better deals out there? (btw in prev post similair to this, i forgot to mention it was a laptop)
links and specs wouldbe helpful to me


my current machine runs css @ 50fps ave. with med graphics settings and specs are:

intel pentiem4 3.2ghz
512 RAM
120gb hdd
geforce 5500 gpu

i would prefer some beter frame rates @ higher graphics settings if possible

I dont know how many $ that is but I can give advice. I would definitly upgrade the HDD from 4200rpm to atleast 5400rpm, and preferably 7200rpm. That GPU looks ok for a laptop but I would still definitly upgrade to 1GB of ram, even if you do it after market.

I don;t think its right, normally the resol. is 1280X1024, don't settle for less than that in widescreen

thats pretty old mem, its time for PC4200 533Mhz DDR2

3. 80GB IDE 4200 rpm Hard Drive
Really slow, even 5400rmp is common now
