I have a dell inspiron 600m laptop, and the battery that went with it died. So i bought a new one, but all this one says all the time is that it is on 20% of battery power remaining. What should i do to get a full charge. Turn it off for a day, while charging it?...lease anything would help?

A few laptops have a Battery Calibration feature. See if you can find anything about that. In my averatec, it's in the bios. I've heard of some Toshiba's using a some windows software. No clue if Dell's even have the option.

Was the battery you bought new/used/from ebay/from a retailer.... If you bought a new battery do what Too suggested and see if that works, however with newer batteries they should be ok right out of the box (no need to charge then and run them down fully) if you bought it from ebay/used the battery could be dead/dying already (might wanna try and get your money back).
