Laptop Battery

Is it recommendable to take off the battery of my laptop while it is plugged? And can you give some tips to take good care and give long life to a laptop battery? I have a 6-cell ThinkPad battery for my ThinkPad x201.

Yes you can remove your battery with the AC connected.
I remove my fully charged batteries and use AC a lot of the time.
But a few of my laptops I leave the battery installed.
 
Thats extreme to take out. Read the instructions.
Leaving plugged in 24 hrs will boil the battery. Unplug out of the wall.
Then again a fully charged battery if unplugged needs to be charged before running all the way down. Do not do that. Read the instructions. they have guide lines for long life.
