I want to record video onto the laptop hard drive with camera fixed to car (Soft top) whilst driving. That bit is easy enough, but can I close the lid while its doing it?

You shoudl be able to as long as you dont set it to power off or go into standby when the lid is closed... Why close the lid just leave it open lol
 
I,m driving down to Rome in the summer (Triumph Stag), and I want some footage of the journey to make into a short film. Don't think it's a good idea to leave it open for any length of time.
So, where do I look to alter the setting? It just goes to sleep in the state that it's in.
