Hello, dear readers.
In the last 2 weeks my laptop has randomly stopped charging power, and randomly starting again. So several times a day my screen displays: "Power off, power on, power off, power on, power off, power on..." and it will continue for perhaps 30 seconds to one minute. Sometimes it will even stop charging for many seconds at a time - not good when combined with a weak battery.
A little over 1 week ago I smelled smoke and just a few days ago I noticed the smell was actually coming from my laptop's fan-exhaust/cooling port(don't know what to call it, sorry) and yesterday I noticed the very tip of my charger(the one that goes in the laptop) was insanely hot - properly hot enough to give 1st degree burns. The computer isn't running hot at all. And it seems at random the tip of the charger will just reach a really hot temperature - so hot that I am really worrying about it and I think that because the tip is so hot it somehow prevents the laptop from charging, causing the problem in the first paragraph.
I am asking; if any of you, know what might be wrong. What is causing my computer to emit a small scent of smoke? Is the random stopping and starting of recharge because of my charger(the very tip of it) running insanely hot? And why could it be running hot(note the transformer isn't at any alarming temperature, at all).
Thank you, all of you, much appreciated!
