Laptop CPU running at 80 Celsuis

I was shocked too see that a laptop of my friend was running at 80 Degree celsuis with barely no load.

It's an AMD Turion X2 CPU.

I've tried blowing and spraying the fans and vents with compressed air and it didn't do much difference.

Is it safe for the CPU to be running this hot ? What else can I do ?

No, its not safe to be running that hot. What program did you use to get that reading? You may want to try a couple programs to verify.

Turion's run hot, but do check the temps with a few different programs.
