Does anyone know if I could upgrade an ASUS laptop that has a T9600 Dual core in it, to a Core i7 720QM Quad.

Both are 45nm but not sure on other specs or socket type.

Is this doable? I know the CPU is easily accessable/removable from the machine and I have the i7 chip to add in, but I'm unsure if its compatible.

Any ideas?
 
Most likely not.

1: You need the right socket, and they're probably not the same
2: Motherboard/BIOS support
3: Heat/cooling issues

So to sum it up, most likely not.
 
I hate taking laptops apart. Laptop manufacturers like to make it hard to get them apart so if something breaks you gotta spend a load of money repairing it or buying a new model.
