Hi to anyone who has chosen to look at the thread
my problem is;
I have a Acer Aspire 3690 on Windows XP SP3 with an 60gb partitioned HDD, Intel Family Chipset etc and have had it for about 18 months now
Since I got it I have always had problems with it but have found solutions to the problems, however with this i am completely baffled...
Random Cut Out
Just recently, the laptop has been randomly cutting out after about 45 minutes of being on it, however when its not being used for example when i rip a DVD and leave it, it has stayed on for hours.
The cut out basically consists of an immediate power cut without warning and when i go to power up again, i need to take out the lead and put it back in...
Overheating
The laptop over the last few weeks has generated a substantial amount of heat from its single fan in the back corner. I have considered opening the machine up but i am afraid of breaching a potential warranty that i still have on it.
Power Lead Issue
Within the last few days, the power light on the laptop has been indicating that my cable is no longer inserted, yet it is in and working fine (works on other laptops fine) now... just yesterday, my laptop cut out randomly and when I replaced the cable and powered back up, it gave me a warning saying it wasn't an Acer lead, however i have used it for 18 months and it is an acer lead...
i have a hunch that these all may be connected somehow, and from the use of spybot, AVG and ccleaner, i have managed to find software problems and free space on the HDD but from the programs i used, there were no registry issues. so im pretty guaranteed sure that it isnt a worm, which only points me into the direction of an obvious hardware issue
i would appreciate any input from anyone concerning this issue, i shall contact acer if a solution cant be found
really appreciate it!!
