Laptop DC Jack ASUS Q550LF

I dropped my laptop and it hit the corner near where the dc jack is. The computer was working just fine, except it would no longer charge. So I suspect something is wrong with the charging port. I have taken a look inside and the DC jack is unfortunately a part of the motherboard. I wanted to ask what are the possible things that have gone wrong and what are the steps I can take. Before I replace the whole motherboard, I would like to try and repair the DC jack. Any thoughts or suggestions how I could go about this? Thanks for any help guys--much appreciated!

This should be a similar process, although it involves complete teardown and desoldering/soldering of the replacement jack, which is fairly time consuming:

That's pretty much the work involved :D

The only trick is getting down to the board itself and putting it back together with all of the correct screws lol
