Laptop/Desktop Combined?

I am thinking about building my own desktop computer using hardware off the Internet and I was wondering if there is any way to possibly combine the hardware of a laptop's docking station with a desktop tower as a single machine. I have a Dell Latitude D620 and a docking station. I do not want to get rid of my laptop and I was just wondering if there is any hardware to "dock" it into a desktop tower.

I don't quite get it you want sync the power into one genral pc or something?

Sort-of. I want to make a computer on newegg.com and be able to connect my laptop's hard drive and screen to it as well as have it charge the laptop like a docking station does.

Well you can't really sync the power like CPTMuller said, but you could use your laptop as an extra screen or your PC! (Info on Multi-display systems) There's a program called Maxivista, it allows you to use another computer to extend the desktop of another computer. The program can also use the primary's computer inputs (mouse, keyboard) and control the secondary PC (No need for KMV Switches!). But it costs money, here's a free alternitive (but requires more complicated install): ZoneOS

And you could use the laptop's hard drive as extra room for your PC, you could set it to share in a network (or at least make a shared folder) You woudn't be able to use it to run programs of the PC though (unless you enjoy lag, lol), just storage really.

my friend thomas's father likes to do that with an old touch screen, he does it to play WOW on one screen and ork on the other, its a good thing his processor is running at like 3.3GHz. but what im saying is it isnt just something people just do, it can be very usefull.

You can always mod your PC case. As in put a screen somewhere inside the case to display system vitals or something, but its going to take alot of work and time too.
