laptop did't start up

Hello, My laptop did not start up this morning, I only saw the DELL sign, after something like half an our it continued,
I use Dell vostro 3000 series, windows 10 version 1903
This laptop is quitte old, but still I'd like to know what happened. I did't say anything about that it was updating or so,
so I hope you can help me to find out

What?What did you do to it or other people.You gave me too little information.Maybe this computer will work tomorrow

within half an our it did work, so the only thing I like to know is what happend, What information do you need

I'd do an extended scan on the hard drive, usually hanging at that phase the computer is timing out waiting for data to come back from storage to load the OS. I've seen a lot of PCs hang with a USB stick attached at boot as well, so if you have one of those remove it at boot.

Mechanical drives in laptops have a huge failure rate largely as a result of physical handling.

an extended scan on the hard drive? for example with 'look my hardware'? I did have a usb hanging on it, and will remove it next time when it don't start up.
