my ibm thinkpad t20's dvd/cd ultrabay drive, is shown as an ejectable device (like a USB device) and it says click here to remove safely

is the drive ejectable somehow? (like an easier way, like the pcmcia cards eject???

It should be ejectable because I have an ibm thinkpad t23 and I don't think there is a big difference between the two. The way I would eject it will be if you look carefully on the right side of the cd/dvd drive there is like a switch that goes left to right. To take mine out I just put that switch twards the right and then it just comes out. And then if you want to put it back just slide it in.

there is a switch on mine, it pops out, but i cant push it in any direction, and I know it is ejectable because when the switch is in, there is a screw i can put on the bottom to protect it from being stolen, i just dont know how

Ok in this case you should probably explain more. When you saw push you probably mean pull because you have to pull it out to take it out. And when you pull you have to make sure you pull in the direction for it to come out. And if that didn't work my question would be did you ever change the drive? What I mean by change the drive I mean lets say it came with a cd drive and then you bought a cd/dvd drive from somewhere else. I hope this helps.

On my thinkpad r30 to the right of the drive there is a small switch which i slide right and a thing pulls out which i use to remove the drive in order to put a battery/floppy in there instead
