Hi Folks!

My problem has now its own history
1. I bought a Laptop with CD/DVD-Burner, including the software NTI-CD & DVD Maker

2. After a while I installed Nero

3. After a while whether the drive reads nor burns any kind of discs. Not even read the boot-discs while starting the computer

4. Seemed clear that the drive was broken an i sended it to the producer

5. I get a new one. But it was diferent to the old one (Matshita uj-831u)

6. It worked - nearly. I couldn't burn DVD with NTI-CD & DVD Maker, so i installed Nero another time

7. Nero was installed. burned DVDs but aborded everytime a second before finishing...

8. So I installed a Nero Update. A now the is totaly dead again!!! With no chance to boot...

9. I tried the windows systemrecovery but didn't work.

??????????
Who could help me??? What could it be???

Thanx,

Carla

Sorry for my bad english - I'm german...

Is there any softare that came with you new dvd burner? Try installing that if you have'nt already, and than check the manufactures web site for the latest driver update. If that doesnt work, try completely removing the driver for the dvd bruner, and re-installing it (the newsest version).

Thanx lynx,
but there is no software and there are no drivers on internet. Its because the drive is just sold with a computer and not single. Its an OEM. So it should work with the windows drivers ...

Have you tried more than one type/brand of CDR or DVDR disc? The cheapers burner models are picky...

Uninstall NTI-CD & DVD Maker and Nero completely. Then re-install Nero, but don't install InCD4. Packet writing software can give you burn errors.
