Introduction:
Well, I have a -
Notebook model: HP Compaq nx6110
Processor type: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.73GHz
Processor speed: 1733 MHz
Processor stepping: 8
Cache size (L1/L2): 64/2048 KB
Memory size: 512 MB
ROM date: 02/25/2005 F.03
ROM family: 68DTD
and it stopped working after it got kicked around too much. I've never been into a laptop HDD, but I hear they can't take much while they're running. This one went through some stuff and now it gets past the Windows Logo/Load-up Screen, but it stops and then shows a blue screen with an error about "not being able to load" something in C: Drive.

Questions:
  1. I was wondering if the HDD hasn't been damaged permanently, I fear the worst anyways. It is an old computer.
  2. I want to save it, but can I? Can I download/burn Windows XP onto a disk and do the "ROM Based Setup" thingie or something. I'm not too sure what to do.
  3. I'm pretty sure something went crack in the HDD because it didn't pass the Comprehensive Test (test 2) in the HDD Self-Test Options.

Well, as usual, thankx.

P.S. Battery and Memory check both got 100%, so those are still in-tact. Everything seems normal until it tries to load a .dll in C: Drive.

EDIT: Oh and uh, "Restore defaults" doesn't seem to do anything and safe mode does not work either.

Well, if it didn't past the self test then the HDD is probably trashed. Luckily, they're easy to replace and not TOO expensive.

I think you must bring it to a technician for a proper trouble shooting and to know what is must be fix or changed
