Laptop for home recording

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy a laptop for home recording. The main thing I want to do is record my guitar and vocals and edit them in all possible ways. Pro-Tools seems the best software to me. But I can't decide which laptop is a good one for home recording. Someone told me a high RAM-amount is very important.

Has anybody any suggestions?

no need for more than 4 rally, over 8 and it'll probably be too ecxpensive, what's your budget, and a desktop will be more powerfull for the same price, and also what counry are you in so we know what sites to look at

I live in the Netherlands. My budget will probably go from 300-700 euros. I specifically want a laptop, because it's very usefull since I'm planning to record with my band in time, so a portable computer is very handy.
