Laptop for school

Those laptops will NOT last 5 years. maybe that Acer posted by daisy but idk.

try this one, a little bit over budget, but a much better value overall, and is a LOT more portable. I know because i have a 15.6" screen. not very portable, just ok.

even this one is good, fast hard drive, nice screen, and OK CPU: (below budget)

HP is as worst as Acer...
Toshiba is good, but that CPU is too slow.

I have Dell's are over 5 years and have seen more travel and time in a back pack where it moves around a lot then any one on this forum. Plus the moment you recommend HP means you really don't know anything about laptop and the quality of there builds.

I would go with the Toshiba, price is good and for the price the battery and cpu are really good. That Dual core neo will do everything you want and more.

Are HP's really that bad anymore? I have seen some of the newer models and they seem well built.

I have a 6 year old dell, it works amazing. They last lol.

And +1 about the HP's.

I have an Acer (A few models up) and I can say from experience - their batteries suck. You will only reach the listed battery life if the screen is on the lowest setting, and on the lowest setting you can barely see anything (even in a pitch black room). While plugged in though, its a great laptop, I've never had any issues with it.

For school work I wouldn't recommend that one, for one, the battery will only last you at most around 2 hours, secondly like people have already said, its a single core. Single cores are hugely outdated.
