Laptop freezing/ Restarting

When my laptop freezes the HDD light is no longer on, I can hear my hard drive running though. Also on startup, my laptop fails to show anything on the screen UNLESS the HDD light of the laptop goes on, but I am able to hear the Hard Drive running, I do hear VERY faint clicking noise separated by half a second, which is apparently normal, its no fased paced clicking. I ran Memtest and have found errors, but can bad RAM cause my hard disk to do this, or do both my HDD and RAM need replacement? Thats my main question here. BTW i have done every hard drive diagnostic, including the ones on Hirens BOOT cd and it says my hard drive is fine

If the clicking is coming from the hard drive, its called the click of death and you should start backing up your data now and replace the drive.

Yeah I know, but the clicking is no where close to the clicking demonstrated on per say youtube videos, and the clicking dosent occur after startup as well. Apparently clicking is common among hard drives, just as long as its not a lot, its fine

Not sure where you heard that some clicking is normal. It's obvious you have an issue since the system freezes up. Replace the drive before it totally goes out.
