Laptop gone really slow.

Hi,

My laptop has suddenly got really slow and i cant speed it up. Does anyone know what i can do to speed it back up?

Defragging, or formatting it. Getting rid of all the spyware from the pornography websites (Don't worry, we all have it)

Did you do anything before hand that might have slowed it down? Maybe installing a program or something like that?
 
You've ran virus scans with your normal AV and Malware Bytes correct? One thing I might look at is go to the Task Manager and see if there's some program hogging up processing time and/or a lot of RAM. It seems odd that it'd just suddenly start going slow. But I can't really think of anything that would make it slow like that beyond a virus or a new program. If all else fails you could reinstall your OS, but I'd only do that as a last resort.

Also, what OS are you using? And, is it slow just a boot or the entire time you're using it?
 
I've already tried everything you said apart from installing my OS. Also my OS is Vista and its slow all the time im using it.
 
Unfortunately I can't think of anything that would do that. I can suggest a few ideas on how to improve the performance, but beyond that I simply don't know. :(
 
if you don't mind saving some of your files you don't want to lose and other things like that on a flash drive or attatch them to an email and send it to yourself, then there is a way to do a destructive format that will basically strip your computer down to the os, then reinstall vital programs and your emailed stuff and it should be fine. also you may want to do a registry scan.
 
There is one infection that malwarebytes can't detect and that is an mbr/boot infection. Please download and run TDSSkiller.

Please download and run TDSSkiller

When the program opens, click on the start scan button.

TDSSKiller will now scan your computer for the TDSS infection. When the scan has finished it will display a result screen stating whether or not the infection was found on your computer. If it was found it will display a screen similar to the one below.

To remove the infection simply click on the Continue button and TDSSKiller will attempt to clean the infection.

When it has finished cleaning the infection you will see a report stating whether or not it was successful as shown below.

If the log says will be cured after reboot, please reboot the system by pressing the reboot now button.

After running there will be a log that will be located at the root of your c:\ drive labeled tdsskiller with a series of numbers after it. Please open the log and copy and paste it back here.

Then afterwards, rerun malwarebytes full scan and post its log and post a hijackthis log as well.
 
Try Ccleaner i've used it for 5 years and it's always worked a charm for me it removes all your old temp internet files and other files that can slow your system down. Once you have run that do a defragment of your system.
 
Got a same problem here. Ive reformatted my laptop for 4 times already and after how many days use, it sometimes work so slow.
