Hi, I'm looking at 2 harddrives for the sony vaio fw series. I'm thinking of going w/ the 7200rpm, but will this make the computer overheat a lot? Which harddrive would make a computer run for long periods of time?

320 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400 rpm]
200 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [7200 rpm]

I recently upgraded to a 7200 RPM HDD in my laptop, and haven't seen any noticeable difference in heat generation.

I see it this way... if heat from these drives really was an issue, they'd never be released due to manufacturer liability.

By the way, the upgrade to 7200 RPM was the BEST upgrade I've ever made to my laptop. The performance boost was phenomenal, surpassing (IMO) even the benefits of upgrading from 2-4 GB of RAM.

thanks- also, was wondering if any1 knows if the 200gb hard drive would be enough space for a couple games, videos, photos..?

Whats a couple to you? I have a 120 GB HDD, I have with 3,000 song 30 videos about 120 pictures 8 games and I'm only using 80 GB.
