Laptop HD on Desktop?

Is there anyway I can take my Laptop Hard Drive and hook it up to my Desktop so I can transfer the files, seeing as my Laptop bit the dust, but there is a bunch of files on the Lap drive that I cant replace.

i counted my laptops hd pins and its not same for hd on desktop
