My compaq presario 3000 screen wont light up all the way. I can barely, but I'am able to see things but its really hard. It seems like the resolution is turned all the way down. Does anyone have any suggestions is to how to brighten my screen up?

the function brighten key?

usually a blue "Fn" key and then look for the contrast symbol somewhere on the keyboard. On my Compal (not compaq .. i believe compaq are made by Compal however I'm not sure about your specific one) CL-56 it's page up.

It's weird because I have it hooked up to my T.V. and I can see fine. I just Can barely see a thing on the laptop monitor. I have no idea whats going on. I tried unplugging it fom the T.V. I also hit F8 that didn't work.

Ya i tried the function key F8 right? It is only 3 years old so would a screen go out that fast?

It's been known to tell that from time to time monitors can just go bad. It's probably not worth replacing it... because the cost of replacing the LCD display could be as much as buying a new computer. That's why warranties are so important once you purchase something like that.

Just my 2 cents, of course.

can't go wrong with a mac, if you are a college student show them your university ID and get 10% off.

If you want another laptop I highly reccommend the macbook, of the laptops I have it makes the trek to school with me every day while the other two are handed down to keeping dust off my desk.
