Hey guys this is my first post my laptop came like i dunno handed ( 3rd i think ) and it has some issues from nooby preowners.

Information: I have a Xp professional service pack 2 version 5.1 Latitude d600 laptop ( 512 ram crap everything else cd rom drive.... cant play many games bad graphic card )

1. It has some files missing eg; When i try to to system restore or do a certain task in microsoft word 2003, I get some errors ( these are just some errors, some core files are missing :( )

2. Has some scrate marks can i get a skin for it?

3. Some windows programs arnt installed properly. ( 1 ive found but if u need details on what it is ask )

4. Can i upgrade it like tech it out, My dream is 2 play a game " gazes up "

5. all of a sudden my internet went slow :(, And i have bad memory so i cant remember when it happend.

6. I forgot wat all the rest was ..... i rly have to write stuff down:confused::confused:
 
Why don't you just reformat the whole system?
Note down the model and make of all inbuilt components of your laptop and after the reformat, find the drivers off the net and download them.

That would solve most of your problems.

As for the skin, you could find one online(Ebay or some other website).
 
And also...

Is there anyway i can turn my cd rom drive into a dvd drive? Im got doe to spend! (not rly i just felt like saying that)
 
Hehe, Ok, note down the details of the modem, speakers and touchpad of your laptop(and webcam if you have an inbuilt one).

Download the corresponding drivers for each of them and save them in an external device(like an USB flashdrive).
After you reformat your computer, plug in the flashdrive and install the drivers for them to work.
 
:D OK!!!! Reformat means erasing everything on your system and reinstalling XP again on your system.

This means that everything, whatever was there in your computer will be erased and you will have to configure it from scratch.

I hope that I'm not talking nerd now. I'm using formal english so that you get my instructions clearly. :D I don't like using it anyways/

Oi i dont have my windows xp CD's i never got em it camed 3rd handed :D, and u dont have to talk that much english ( i cant make up my mind lol ):D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Isnt there som1 easier way then reformating my laptop...i like it....

Temme which program's not installed properly?

Just reinstall it if u hav the setup file. reinstall ms office. basically u need to reinstall everything since it has files missing.

thts y i recommended reformat.
 
All right so have done that issue...

Now how do i do the up grading issue? like make my computer cooler! like i rly want it to be able to have a DVD drive instead of my crapy little teac CD-ROM drive... god i wanna stab it in its electric heart.:D:D
 
Get a new theme for your computer. You'll find one on the internet for sure. Turn on your automatic updates (it's recommended that you have a high speed internet connection).

You can buy an external DVD-DL(Double Layer) burner drive. Visit EBay or any other computer hardware store 'coz that depends on your budget.
 
Christmas is coming up and i can whine preety good to my perents so i just want a dvd drive so i can A: watch dvd's B: play dvd games ( all games require dvd drives SO ANOYING )
