My friend's dell laptop won't let her type double letters. here are a few examples...
leter -letter
wiling -willing
poop-pop

this isn't a problem of her keyboard repeat set to slow, it won't let her do it even slowly. it's a dell laptop....i thought they were pretty solid but apparently she got a lemon..they have already had to replace some usb port or something and when they send it back she had to immediately send it back to them because she had to get a DIMM replaced!!! memory messeges suck. :P
anyway...anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Typing in what program? Could be the Autocorrect messed up?

Typing Period....typing at all...i kinda thought the same thing...i'll ask her when she gets back from class...but even in messenger it didn't work.

Then is it that ****ing sticky-keys? Try hitting the Shift key five times to deactivate it.

no...i don't think so...i thought about suggesting that...

i'll try it again...maybe she looked at it wrong....

you have to remember i don't have th comptuer someone else has it.

other than those simple things is there something wierd that i could have never heard of that is making the damn thing do this?

No, if it was a hardware flaw (i.e., BIOS repeat rate) you can still type two keys albeit slowly. Definitely a software problem :)
