Laptop Operating EXTREMELY Slowly

I have a Dell Latitude D610 Laptop, with about a 6-month old hard drive. Within the past week it has been working normally, except it is operating very very slowly, taking about eight minutes to fully start up and about four minutes to open a folder or my internet browser. I do have only about 2GB of memory left on my hard drive. Could this be the problem? If not, please let me know if you have any recommendations.

Yeap, it might be the cause. I heard if the primary partition have less than 10% free space, the perfomance will drop.

Maybe your pc has been infected by virus or spyware. Try scan with antivirus.

Does the computer ever put up a message about "low hard drive space" or something similar?
