Laptop Overclock (x1400)

I was bored today so I decided to try overclocking my video card again. Last time I tried I couldnt even overclock it 2Mhz without it crashing. But today I actually got it to work!

I overclocked it from 433Mhz Core / 690Mhz Memory, to a whopping 567Mhz Core / 828Mhz Memory! It may not seem like a ton, but it is a huge overclock for a laptop.

I'll run 3DMark so you can see how much it actually helped. :)

The X1400 is not a very good card from memory, its a budget one for laptops, I guess it will impact beneficially to your 3dmark score though. My 7900GT is at 620/1800 (stock is 450/1400) and the difference is over 1000 3dmark 06 points.

No matter how far you overclock you card, it will still not be able to play current generation games on high.

Oh really?? WOW!! I NEVER KNEW THE CARD I HAD FOR A YEAR COULDNT PLAY GAMES ON HIGH!!!

Seriously, I can play CSS on medium/high settings at 1280x800, I play Halo, GTA:SA, CoD2, and many other games on medium/high settings.

And as I said before, its a LAPTOP VIDEO CARD, you cant compare it to the overclock you got on a 7900GT. The fact is, its a great overclock for a laptop. It also boosted my 3DMark03 score almost a thousand points, from around 3200 to 4100.

And why are you talking to me like im a 12year old who first turned on a PC? I know how my video card handles games, and sure its not a high end card, but it does what I need it to.

LOL sorry, some 12 years olds are more computer literate than me. 4100 in 3dmark03 is mid bordering low range. I get over 21K in 3dmark 03.

I know the score is low, but it lets me play all the games I like on decent settings with AA, so im happy :)

And its not really the performance im interested in, just the fact that I overclocked it. Maybe i'll try overclocking the CPU :P

Depends on how your motherboard works, usually when you overclock your CPU, your AGP or PCI-E frequency increases too and that lowers your overclocking margin for your graphics card.
