Hey guys. I'm getting my first laptop (http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7148802&CatId=2511) and would like to know how do the current generation of laptops perform in relation to the average desktop pc? And how much faster will this laptop be in relation to my intel e7400 desktop pc?

Well that laptop for the price is really nice, you do not want to compare a laptop to a desktop though cause for the price a desktop will always win. It is cheaper to put new technology into something larger then cram it into something smaller.
But by no means am I downing the laptop, I prefer laptops and I do not think I would never go back to a desktop, to the point if I needed real performance I would spend 1.5k on laptop to keep my mobility.

I understand and agree. It's just now I am really starting to appreciate laptop computers - two thumbs up for mobility:good::good:
