This troubleshooting will help resolve minor issues like:

1. No LCD display but unit is actually powered ON
2. Laptop battery not charging
3. Keyboard not responding
4. windows no boot issue

here's the Tip: Take out the battery and unplug the power adapter. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs then release after 30secs. Put the battery/adapter back in. Issue above should be resolved. Else fails, contact your computer's manufacturer.
 
That's a pretty common "fix" among techs, but rarely I've seen it do much good. A time or two it will help, but usually when major problems persue, the laptop's simply junk.

Oddly enough, I was just trying this on a dv2000 laptop at work. It powers up just fine. You shut it down, then it won't come on again. I'm actually thinking it may be something with the power button itself...
