Laptop Power settings

Hey guys,
The laptop in my sig came with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I havn't been able to access My Nas drive through Vista, so i used a ftp client for a little bit. But recently decided to put win xp pro on..

Now my only really anoying problem is My power settings keep resetting.
When i shut down the PC, All the settings seem to default.

Turn off Monitor in 5mins
Turn off hard disks in 5mins
System standby in 5mins
Hibinates in 5mins..

Its really buggin the crap outa me.

I set them at a better time but they change back...
This didn't happen in vista..
If you guys cant think of anything i'll probably just put vista back on.

Umm no i dont think so, the MSI site gives full driver support for Xp/Vista.
I have installed all of them.

that's a user related setting.
it's stored in your registry.
