Laptop Problem

I have a time 7321 laptop and when i switch it on it starts up but then a few seconds later it switches itself off it wont even let me get to the bios screen i have tried booting up straight from the mains and it still does it and there is a mains light on when its plugged in i have tried changing the battery to no aveil. i have also tried to boot up with no cd drive and floppy drive in. Any ideas would be very much apreciated

Is this the first time you switched it on ever, or is this a new thing.
Have you recently changed anything like CPU, Heatsink, PSU or something like that.

Yes it has been switched on before it has only recently started doing this and i havnt changed anything on it at all

Most confusing maybe someone who has a better knowledge can help you. I can't really suggest anything unless you CPU is overheating and your CMOS has a set shut down temperature.

it is not switche on long enough for it to get hot

Try removing the hard drive, booting, than replacing the hard drive, and booting again. See what happens. (The hd on your lapot is usualy a little item slid into the side of the computer held in by a screw.)
