what is a good speed for laptop processors? my laptop is 2.4Ghz, but ive noticed alot of new laptops only have like 1.6Ghz or 1.8Ghz. i was curious so i thought i might ask.

It depends on the processor. Those are so much lower because they are most likely Pentium M processors. An easy way to think of it is to double the ghz on a Penitum M. It'll be like a Pentium 4 roughly.

ex. 1.5 ghz M is like a 3 ghz Penitum 4.

It may not be exact, but that's a rough way to think about it...

The best, I'd say is Pentium M. Better battery life, which I think is very important on a laptop. However, it really depends on what you are going to use it for.

hmmm thats not too bad, the main advantage of the PM is that it has a better battery life than the other processors because of lower voltage. as everyone said a PM has a single faster processor (consider amd vs intel an fx processor with 2.6 (or whatever not too sure) will beat a p4ht 3.2
