laptop purchase

Looking to buy a laptop for grad school:
my requirements are: under $1000, under 5 lbs, and otherwise as updated as possible.
I found one that looks good, but was wondering if there were any other comparable ones out there, and whether this one is as good as it seems:

looking for suggestions...
thanks!

Avertech and Acer are cheaper companies. The sempron is a good processor. It is like a celeron on steroids. I believe it has 4 channels so it can push the data at the same speed as a celeron but has more pathways for the data to flow. If you really need tiny and dont care about small scren size and want the power and battery life of a centrino check out the tiny vaios although I dont really think they meet your budget. Dell also just released like an ultra small laptop starting at i think 2.7 lbs but it is like $1600.

Just some stuff to check out...

If you really want as small as humanly possible, than an OQO is for you... http://www.oqo.com/
